Another great commission from Art Director, James Young, for Lifestyle Magazine.
It's a great magazine created specifically for the physically challenged. I am commissioned to add some light hearted humour to the subject matter 'Adult Education'.
What a great theme, Adult Education covers so many fields. When creating an illustration I aim to avoiding the obvious, but at the same time, making sure the main idea is easily understood. Quite a challenge, but very a very important lesson for any budding illustrator out there. Hence the fun and crazy idea of using Adult Education Classes to create a rocket in the middle of the living room?? And why not??

- The full living room scene. My, they are a busy family.
- Two ladies sample their home made wines
- Brains working out the trajectory of his flight to the moon. Thanks to Adult Education Classes.
- Dressing up, looking and sounding every bit French
- Well, the pets have to feel part of it. Though I don't think the cat agrees.
- A view of the Cockpit. I hope Dad has enough supplies for the journey.
- Success. I hope you've worked out how to get back down.
I like detail, but in so doing, I do rather create a lot of work for myself. Ah well who needs sleep anyway?
Let me know your thoughts. Should there be less detail? Should the colours be flat? Or do you prefer with shading?
It's always great to hear from you, so comments and thoughts are very welcome and very useful.
I absolutely love these and so do my little lads 😉
Like the colours as they are, and the detail which draws your eye to look for more.
Saw your post on Art of Licensing. Love your colorful & inventive art!
I love them all! Very colourful fun and intricate!
FYI- On the mobile, the title covers 1⁄3 of the thumbnail when u enlarge the pics. Plus- I couldn't 'slide' from one pic to the next.
Thank you very much very glad you all like my illustration.
Thanks also Toby for mobile info, I'll look into that.
